DAZWISCHENTRETEN is an exhibition project organized jointly by the Künstlerhaus Bremen and by the Mariann Steegmann Institut. Kunst & Gender, Forschungsfeld wohnen+/-ausstellen, University of Bremen. The exhibition not only takes place in the individual artist studios but also in passageways, staircases and the guest studio. The participating artists presently have their studios in the Künstlerhaus, have earlier been guests there or live and work in other cities and countries.

Intruding, going inside, entering and departing provoke a house-invasive intervention that exposes the Künstlerhaus Bremen as a programmatic and traditional venue of artistic production, arranged and formed around its studios. The project aims at drafting a space of reflection that investigates the conditions of how we make and view art. Thereby the house is comprehended as a test assembly: Through inclusion and exclusion, standing still or passing through the spaces, a ‘house working’ will be explored and observed at threshold situations that put the boundaries between working space and exhibition space up for discussion.

With the opening and throughout the duration of the exhibition Biba Bell, Annika Kahrs & Gerrit Frohne-Brinkmann, Daniela Reina Téllez und Noriko Yamamoto will develop their works and make them visible. They will be present especially on saturdays. For more dates and the program: please click here. Please note the special opening hours from Friday till Sunday, 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
