DREAMINSTIGATORS

Celebrating the 150th anniversary of Sigmund Freud?s birth (*6 May 1856). Visual artists from the Czech Republic, Austria, but also from Slovenia, countries of the Near East and from the United States (e.g., Jan Švankmajer, Franz West, Peter Kogler, Heimo Zobernig, IRWIN, Rivka Ring, Josef Kosuth) use artistic expression to deal with the theme of Freud and psychoanalysis. The exhibition shows that the universe of the unconscious and the subconscious, whose doors were opened by Freud, is still, a long time after the period of surrealism, an inexhaustible source for visual art.
