Emil Lukas

Lukas is interested in the beauty that results from an open-ended exploration of materials and art-making processes. The exhibition includes a sculpture which can be viewed from the outside or the inside with the aid of a snaking camera. In an outdoor installation, Lukas will create a series of small-scale cast-concrete sculptures placed discretely throughout the sculpture garden. The surface of each form will contain depressions and textures which, exposed to the elements outside, will change over time. Visitors will be invited to partake in their own process of exploration by making rubbings and castings from Lukas’s forms.
