FASTWÜRMS: DONKY@NINJA@WITCH

Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art presents the premiere Winnipeg debut of FASTWÜRMS.

DONKY@NINJA@WITCH brings together new works by FASTWÜRMS, with the restaging of several key installations from the 1990s to 2005, including Blood & Swash, a provisional marker pen tattoo parlor and multi-disciplinary performance event with 'flash' display graphics on denim, and Gusset Nation's bra-web and panty-net, with companion digital video production/display, Pussy Necropolis--designed for an audience of cats.

Formed in 1979 by Kim Kozzi and Dai Skuse, FASTWÜRMS is the trademark and joint authorship of these Toronto/Creemore- based multidisciplinary artists whose artwork melds high and popular cultures, bent identity politics, social exchange and a Witch positive DIY cinematic sensibility.

FASTWÜRMS has exhibited and created public commissions and installations, performance, video and film projects, across Canada and in the United States, Europe, Korea, and Japan.

FASTWÜRMS' cultural politics are complex and strategically subversive, their critical aesthetics relational and inclusive with a bent towards working class, craft collaborations, and queer alliance.

New work includes Witch vs. Ninja(2007), a radical 'no budget' artist cinema production shot on location in Venice, Italy and Scarlet Hill, Ontario, following a chase and final collision between 'Beshiki-me' radical ninja feminism, and the Witch Nation's occult relational aesthetics and black collar labour negotiations.

DONKY@NINJA@WITCH is presented at Plug In ICA, at 286 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, Canada. The exhibition and programs are free and the public is invited to attend. Everyone welcome!
