Hopton presented sculptures, paintings, drawings and photographs. Various motifs recurred in her work - magic wands, artists' palettes, Pierrots and Harlequins among them - as well as an obsession with textured materials such as glitter, pom-poms and crazy paving.
Sarah Staton's work explored materiality, cultural specifics, humour and language. MK-G's Long Gallery was transformed into a contemporary interpretation of an English sculpture garden, with work in a variety of media including sculpture, installation and fabric hangings.
Both Exhibitions were the largest showings of each artist's work to date.
