GLOBAL CONNECTION SHOW

"The work of art has value only insofar as it crossed by the reflections of the future," said André Breton. Art has always been in crisis, lives in crisis and feeds it. In the crisis is its power to adapt, challenge, transform. However, today, the art is facing a very difficult time of crisis, social, political, ecological, financial. The crisis is a primary condition of discontinuity and global change. With this in turmoil, the artists have a unique opportunity to challenge and re-imagine the future. They have always been able to interpret the spirit of the times, sometimes anticipating or "struggling" with the poetics of culture, of collaboration and communication. And upon this spirit that the exhibition GLOBAL CONNECTION SHOW is, it is curated by Dores Sacquegna, which once again offers an event able to leave a mark, to discuss and plan independently, because art and culture, is sharing and passion. The exhibition is divided with works of painting, sculpture, photography, video art and performance.

Among the artists invited the extraordinary participation of LIVING THEATRE, with the video of the performance EUREKA! A performance based on the poem by E. A. Poe, signed by director Judith Malina and Gary Brackett, with music by Patrick Grant, produced by Evan True. The Living Theatre is an experimental theater company founded in New York in 1947 by Julian Beck, designer, painter and poet, and actress and director Judith Malina. After their debut, and the initial controversy, the Living, reaches, the success of public and critics with "The Connection", text by Gelber, directed by Judith Malina was staged in 1959. The commitment in numerous peaceful demonstrations and initiatives of civil disobedience in fact had earned a reputation at the Living that went far beyond the narrow confines of the avant-garde theater and that made it, precisely because of this political commitment, "do not like" the government the United States. Since the early sixties, therefore, the Living foc uses its business in Europe and particularly in Italy, with touring and long-term stays. Are these years shows considered as the masterpieces of collective creation Mysteries and Smaller Pieces (1964), Antigone by Sophocles (1967) Frankenstein and Paradise Now (1968) at Eureka, on display here.

Opens the exhibition the live performance "Human Box", by director MASSIMILIANO MANIERI (Lecce, 1968), staged with Micaela Stifani (Lecce).
