press release

Opening reception February 25, 7-9pm

The bittersweet title of Rivington Arms’s group show “Goodbye to All That” marks the relocation from their quaint origins in the Lower East Side to their expanded space on East 2nd Street. The show reflects the gallery’s history of supporting young artists who refuse to adhere to a specific aesthetic. Underlined by an ominous quality, the artworks highlight the diverse range of works from the gallery’s artists. Works include the stark black-and-white collage by Lansing-Dreiden and the photograph of ritualistic masks by Hanna Liden, whose solo show is currently running in the new space. The final show in the gallery’s original space commemorates not the end of an era but the start of an exciting transition and the potential for greater things to come.
