Turkish-born Haluk Akakçe’s full-room, multimedia installations-which include wall paintings/drawings, works on paper, and oil paintings-and video works demonstrate his intense palette, surreal imagery, and conceptual exploration of the boundary between nature and technology. His idiosyncratic influences include Art Deco, science fiction, comic book romanticism, and contemporary fashion.
