Hamra Street Project

In 2000, Ashkal Alwan invited a group of artists to create writings, video, photography and installations on Hamra Street and explore its image as one of Beirut's busiest and renowned thoroughfares. Works were screened and exhibited at the Hamra, Strand and Colisée cinemas as well as on Sadat Street.

Featured artists Akram Zaatari, Bilal Khbeiz, Rabih Mroue, Feyrouz Serhal, Ghassan Salhab, Jalal Toufic, Lamia Joreige, Mahmoud Hojeij, Nadine Touma, Nesrine Khodr, Salah Saouli, Tony Chakar and Walid Sadek.
