The first-ever exhibition to focus on the woodcuts of American artist Helen Frankenthaler opens at Salander-O'Reilly Galleries Tuesday March 2nd. The exhibition, which runs through Saturday, April 3rd was organized by the Naples Museum of Art and features an accompanying book published by George Braziller, Inc., of New York, with text by Judith Goldman, the exhibition's guest curator.

Frankenthaler: The Woodcuts spans a 30-year period and includes more than 20 woodcuts, as well as a number of proofs and states and the original woodblocks used to make two of the images. About a third of the exhibition debuted at the Yale University Art Gallery in the summer of 2002. The exhibition has since traveled to the Naples Museum of Art, Florida, the Center for Contemporary Art, Fukushima-ken, Japan and the Portland Art Museum, Washington.
