Here We Dance

This is the third exhibition in a series looking at citizenship. Here We Dance takes the body as a metaphor for the state as its starting point, featuring artists who use bodies in movement, group actions and games to explore ideas of community and politics. The title alludes to the importance of social gathering in any form of political action or resistance, and each work in the exhibition presents the viewer with the residues of a past event, be it personal memory, cultural tradition or a moment of historical or political significance.

The exhibition focuses on works by Johanna Billing, Katinka Bock, Yael Davids, Ian Hamilton Finlay, Gail Pickering and Yvonne Rainer.
