HiCat

Hipercatalunya: Territories of research, is a project for analysing and prospecting the Catalan territory. It aims to identify a multidisciplinary approach to the reality of the territory beyond the mechanisms of traditional town-planning, promoting logics and interpretations open to a possible interrelation between the existing and the imaginable, in accordance with a dimension of contemporary culture which can provide new spaces for new ways of life, new aesthetics for new scenarios of progress. Hipercatalunya, produced within the framework of the “Metàpolis Research Program”, involves twenty-five architects, architects’ studios from all over Spain, such as Iñaki Ábalos & Juan Herreros, Actar Arquitectura, ADP arquitectes associats, Eduardo Arroyo. Cloud 9, Roldán+Berengué, Federico Soriano, Vicente Guallart and Willy Muller, and abroad, Duncan Lewis, FOA, MVRDV, Roche & DSV and West 8. A dozen experts from fields as diverse as economics, biology, anthropology or law have also taken part.
