Unsere visuelle Wahrnehmung kennt 3 Dimensionen, die wir einem physikalischen Raum zuschreiben und der den Rahmen, über welchen wir unsere Umwelt erfassen, bildet. Zur konzeptionellen Erklärung von 3D-Räumen gibt es verschiedene zweidimensionale Darstellungsmöglichkeiten. Ivana Franke erprobt mit ihren Installationen, ob unsere visuelle Wahrnehmung von 3D-Räumen auch über andere Bezugsrahmen funktioniert.

In our perception there are 3 dimensions, which we ascribe to a physical space. They play a fundamental role in our comprehension of the world around us. We actually do not perceive them but they form the frame, the a priori background in which we perceive events, the perspective from which we observe. [...] There are different methods with different parameters for 2-dimensional renderings of a 3-dimensional space that can be used to explore it conceptually. Sašo Vrabic ist ein charakteristischer Vertreter einer zeitgenössischen Kunst, in welcher die Wahl eines bestimmten Mediums nicht länger bindend ist. Bereits in seinen ersten Ausstellungen in den späten 1990er Jahren spiegeln seine Bilder seine Faszination für die Präsentationsmöglichkeiten der Massenmedien wieder, dennoch verwendet er aufgrund seiner kritischen Einstellung diesen gegenüber zur Umsetzung das Medium der Malerei. Vrabic selbst nennt diese künstlerische Methode „quick realism”.

Sašo Vrabic entered the art world in the late nineteen-nineties. He is a characteristic representative of a kind of contemporary art in which the choice of media is no longer binding. Art critics commenting on his earliest paintings noted above all the presence of mass media influences in his work. Vrabic called his artistic method “quick realism”. He introduces this phrase and it still applies today. [...] So on the one hand, Vrabic's artwork is clearly linked to his fascination with the possibilities offered by the media.
