Jenny Brockmann – Parallel Line Up

In her current project „Parallel Line Up“ Berlin-based artist Jenny Brockmann is working with drawings, photography, film, performance and sculpture to capture the irreversibility of Icelandic nature in connection with the elements. Focussing on geological and volcanological activities Brockmann is collecting scientific data that she aims to relate to the people in Iceland and to transform into haptical experiences.
Brockmann will exhibit her work in the geological center Breiðdalssetur from August 16th to 26th and will be present for the discursive event 'Data Flows and Landscape Observations' on Tuesday, August 25th, 8pm.
'For many years the artist has been concentrating on the subject of nature and its inherent Processes. Inspired by light, water, air and kinetic energies she creates new forms, structures and workflows. There is a dainly easiness and liveliness which is very unique to these newly formed entities, creating unexpected interactions with the observer, and widening preconceived conceptions in a playful way.'
