The John Moores Painting Prize has become one of the most familiar events in the British art world and is a major part of the Liverpool Biennial.

The bold, the beautiful and the audacious of contemporary painting have been brought together once more for the John Moores Painting Prize exhibition 2012. As the UK’s biggest painting prize, the exhibition promises to present exciting and cutting edge paintings.

This year brings the second John Moores Painting Prize China and the winning paintings will also be on display at the Walker. First prize winner

The winner of the John Moores Painting Prize 2012 is Sarah Pickstone, with her painting 'Stevie Smith and the Willow'.
