Klara Kristalova: Turning into Stone

Porcelain sculpture and drawings by the Sweden based artist Klara Kristalova (b. 1967, Czechoslovakia) comprise the fourth RAW exhibition, a series dedicated to supporting women artists through the generosity of the Leonard and SophieDavis/ ML Dauray Arts Initiative. Hovering between fiction and reality, Kristalova gives form to abstract ideas evolving from memories and observations of the human condition. Her expressive characters are both seductive and disarming, reflecting the poignant and sometimes harsh events that make up our lives. This will be the first solo museum exhibition of Kristalova’s work outside of Sweden.
