Dedicated to young art for ten years, the LISTE - The Young Art Fair in Basel celebrates its anniversary

For the last ten years, the LISTE - The Young Art Fair in Basel has consequently promoted young art and newcomer galleries. During this time, it has become the most important fair for young art and a prominent platform for contemporary art and young galleries.

A success story, which has not been paralleled in the art world, began ten years ago in Basel: the LISTE – The Young Art Fair was founded. Within a decade, it has become the most important fair for young art as well as for discoveries. Specialized in the promotion of young art and artists since its founding, only galleries with a high quality program that are open for less than 5 years and are showing artists less than forty years old are invited to exhibit. Participation is generally restricted to three to four times, during which the galleries should make it into the established market. One third of the 150 galleries, which have participated at the LISTE during the last ten years, succeeded in gaining admittance to the Art Basel, opening their way into the world art market.

The visit to our fair has become a must for the art experts, museum people, collectors and art lovers. Here is the possibility to make discoveries, contacts and to meet young artists.

So, come to Basel - next time in June 2005 - and go through our fair with curiosity and be on the lookout. We ensure that you will discover exciting artists and sense the fresh spirit pulsing around you.

The different architectural situations of the former brewery allowed the galleries this year flexible and individual presentation. Inside the building and on outdoor terraces a restaurant and several bars were in operation.

Alongside the young art, the unique atmosphere of our house adds to a very special experience.
