Momentum 2004 was held from 22 May until 27 June. This was the third Momentum-festival and the main exhibition was in Moss Brewery Exhibition Hall. 23.000 people visited the Momentum-festival as a whole, while the main exhibition was visited by 9.000.

39 artists participated in the main exhibition. The theme was "Change in the Nordic region" and was curated by Caroline Corbetta (IT) and Per Gunnar Tverbakk (N).

Seminars In collaboration with Office for Contemporary Art Norway, a seminar programme was held on the opening weekend of the Momentum-festival. Friday 21 May a panel discussion explored the structure and effects of the diverse yet related approaches to culture that can be associated with neo-liberal cutback policies and the instrumentalism og the new social democrats. While on Saturday 22 May and public discussion open to all discussed the works and curatorial ideas presented at Momtentum 2004.

The main seminar on Sunday 23 May was "How to look at art-talk", with the two panels "How to look at aesthetics" and "How to look at capitalism". Key note speakers included Nicolas Bourriaud (Director, Palais de Tokyo, FR) and Roger M. Buergel (Director, Documenta 12, DE), amongst others.

Short films Just a week after the Norwegian Short Film Festival had distributed its prizes and awards, Momentum showed a selection of the competing films from this year`s programme.

Night Machine "Night Machine" was a performance in the borderline between installation, dance, concert and more. The performance was shown eight times at Mølla Dance and Theatreworkshop.

Momentum Stage Momentum Stage consisted og three different shows at Parkteateret. On May 29 it was a lecture by and with the swedish comedian and writer, Jonas Gardell. On the June 19 one could experience Henrik Ibsen and tango, in the show TanGhost.

Moss Library Author-evening and poetical vernissage were Moss Library`s contribution to the Momentum-festival. On May 25, the local writers Lars Ramslie and Espen Stueland came to meet their public. Also, during the Momentum-festival, a poetical vernissage took place, were students from Mølla School of Creatice Writing read their own texts. Pictures from the main exhibition
