press release

The Exhibition Profile Budapest is the first Part of Exchange Project between Galerie Schuster Berlin and Next Art Budapest.

The second Part in Spring 2012 will be the Solo Show of the Berlin based Artist Gerit Koglin in Budapest.

NextArt Gallery represents the Hungarian contemporary art, produced by the young talents, freshly coming out from their schools and academies. The gallery started its work in 2007 with a group exhibition of the latest generation of domestic contemporary art. Alongside with paintings, other forms of contemporary art are also introduced, such as animation, graphics, installation, photography and motion picture. Artists belonging to the gallery differ in the views and styles they have; however have similar ideas on the cultural meaning of their work.

NextArt creates a domestic contemporary scene for the newer generation, the show place of new painting initiations, and wishes to become a platform as well as a living community place. The challenge is, to portray tendencies that display individual roads and phenomena, as the paintings, define the possible roads of the pictorial thinking and its values. The gallery became the exhibition place for young MOME listeners specialized in media design, based on long-term cooperation with the university. Alongside with the individual exhibitions of the artists, other ideas are included in our plans, such as, inviting a guest curator for the realization of thematic exhibitions, professional meetings, the organization of conversations, issuing publications.

The Gallery debuted in 2008 at Budapest ArtFair, appeared the 22-26. April 2009. held ART COLOGNE in Germany, and participated as an exhibitor at the Art Vilnius between 8-12 in July. In 2010, at the first time held Art Market Budapest, the Műértő Magazine voted the NextArt booth for the best at the whole exhibition. In March 2011 the Gallery was invited to the Scope Art Show in New York, and there was also a solo exhibition at Hungarian Consulate by Dániel Horváth Entropy series.
