press release

In a unique collaboration between leading Chinese collectors, the inaugural exhibition M WOODS exhibition Pale Fire: Revising Boundaries features thirty works spanning sculpture, installation, video, and painting that make visible the commonly assumed boundaries between art made within China and art made outside of China. At the heart of the exhibition is a selection of works from M WOODS founder Lin Han’s collection, built with a deep interest in placing Chinese artists today in dialogue with their international contemporaries. With additional works loaned from collectors Liu Wenchao, Lu Xun, Qiao Zhibing, Chloe Zhao, and Zhou Dawei, the exhibition is a joint effort to frame contemporary art as a cultural phenomenon occurring on a global level.

Artists in the exhibition include Ai Weiwei, Kader Attia, Chen Fei, Duan Jianyu, Olafur Eliasson, Tracey Emin, Gao Ludi, Charles Harlan, He Xiangyu, Yoshitomo Nara, Ouyang Chun, Sterling Ruby, Dahn Vo, and Zeng Fanzhi.
