Organized and circulated by the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery, University of British Columbia (Vancouver), this exhibition marks the first solo show in Canada by British artist Peter Doig. Nine large-scale paintings, produced between 1993 and the present, will feature a variety of subjects: figures in a winter landscape, highway scenes, and depictions of the interior and exterior of Le Corbusier’s Unité d’habitation, an apartment building located in Briey-en-forêt, France. A work entitled 20 Questions - A Project by Matthew Higgs, which will accompany the exhibition, will offer viewers an opportunity to learn about Peter Doig’s creative process.
