PILOT:1

PILOT:1 took place at Old Limehouse Town Hall during the weekend of the Frieze Art Fair.

Over the course of the four-day event we saw a huge level of interest in this inaugural PILOT: event with huge crowds visiting the exhibition and video screenings, attending the round-table discussion, and actively using the PILOT:1 archive. The opening event was so busy that we couldn’t see through the fog of water vapour condensing in the cold autumn air inside the Town Hall, which was bursting at the seams.

Seventy-eight exciting established and emerging curators, art critics, artists and collectors nominated the artists who took part. With the PILOT team’s nominations added to this we showcased the work of ninety-one artists, whose work you will find documented in our online archive here. As you will see, you can not only find details about the practices of each of the PILOT:1 artists in this online archive, but information on the nominators also.

The round-table discussion that took place at PILOT:1 included: JJ Charlesworth, Berit Fischer, Alison Green, Mark Hutchinson, Pil & Galia Kollectiv, Peter Lewis, Catherine Mosely, Victoria Preston, Bob & Roberta Smith, Peter Suchin, and Anne Tallentire.
