PRAELUDIUM
at Modern Art Storage (MOMÜ)

One of the country's most prestigious art exhibition venues in Balatonfüred, Villa Vaszary is one of the most important buildings in the town. The gallery is mainly dedicated to fine art, and the exhibitions are accompanied by literary, musical and performance evenings, and on some occasions you can even be guided through the beautifully renovated building by renowned public figures and artists. The exhibitions at the Vaszary Gallery offer a first-class fine art experience.

On 20 August 2021, at 17:00, the art exhibition PRAELUDIUM will open in the Széchenyi room of the Vaszary Gallery in Balatonfüred.

The exhibition is, as the title suggests, a prelude to a larger-scale initiative and exhibition series, and a preview of the new Municipal Art Gallery (MOMŰ) in Balatonfüred, which will open in 2022. MOMŰ will be made up of the fine art and photographic material of the Szöllösi-Nagy - Nemes Collection. The modern and contemporary collection, mostly representing international geometric and concrete art, is returning to Balatonfüred after thirty years as part of the European Capital of Culture events.

The exhibition is a limited cross-section of the art collection, with works by Bob Bonies, Péter Botos, Gael Bourmaud, Jean-François Dubreuil, István Ézsiás, Tibor Gáyor, István Haász, Hans-Jörg Glattfelder, Gerhard Hotter, Ferenc Lantos, Dóra Maurer, Vera Molnár, Claude Pasquet, Torsten Ridell, Sigurd Rompza, Albert Rubens, Sanchez and József Zalavári. MOMŰ will open in summer 2022.

The exhibition will be opened by Judit Geskó PhD, art historian.

On view from 21 August 2021 to 9 January 2022.
