press release

We are delighted to announce the opening of our new space with a group show of gallery artists. Our new building is located at 16 Wharf Road, just off the City Road, at a convenient point on the way from the West End to the East End and close to the financial hub of the City itself. The building is an old Victorian factory space, currently occupying 12,000 square feet (approx. 1,200 square metres) of space, with 18 to 20 feet (approx. 5 to 6 metres) high ceilings throughout. As well as magnificent proportions and volumes, the back of the building overlooks a garden and a private canal which is also owned by the gallery and will provide a contemplative outdoor area to complement the interior spaces.

A special preview exhibition will take place at the new space while it is still in its raw, light industrial state, featuring major works by the gallery’s stable of artists to include DOUG AITKEN, CECILY BROWN, ANNE CHU, THOMAS DEMAND, PETER DOIG, INKA ESSENHIGH, IAN HAMILTON FINLAY, ANDREAS GURSKY, ALEX HARTLEY, CHANTAL JOFFE, ISAAC JULIEN, UDOMSAK KRISANAMIS, YAYOI KUSAMA, ABIGAIL LANE, BRAD LOCHORE, ROBIN LOWE, DAWN MELLOR, TRACEY MOFFATT, CHRIS OFILI, HADRIAN PIGOTT, INEZ VAN LAMSWEERDE, ADRIANA VAREJAO, STEPHEN WILLATS, FRANCESCA WOODMAN.
