Roderick Buchanan

Roderick Buchanan, who lives and works in Glasgow, is an explorer of people and places, of forgotten histories and the political implication of everyday occurrences and aspirations. Using 35mm film, video and installation, Buchanan makes raw but tender portraits of people indulging in activities such as skateboarding or athletes in training as analogies for broader social behaviours. Buchanan has exhibited at Venice Biennials in 1999 and 2001 and won the ICA Becks Futures prize in 2000.
