Previously a student of physics, linguistics and aesthetics, Sam Falls applies his multidisciplinary awareness to making art. To reach each hybrid composition, the artist engages with various time-based techniques including photography, painting, Photoshop and sculpture. Combining colours, textures and subject matter, the final works are visually enticing and provoke the audience to contemplate their many possible meanings. Falls’ juxtapositions and digital interventions can be both familiar and strange, raising questions about how we look at works of art in an image-saturated society.

In May, Falls will be undertake a residency with the Zabludowicz Collection in Sarvisalo, Finland. The result will be shown as a solo presentation alongside Falls' works already featured in the Collection.

Throughout the summer the Collection will present a series of four solo presentations by Adriano Costa, Michael E. Smith, Sam Falls and Samara Scott. Each artist will make new commissions to show alongside their works which already feature in the Collection.
