The John Kaldor Family Collection is renowned for its in-depth representations of some of the most influential artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.

This display focuses on the practices of seven artists who have emerged since the 1990s: collaborative duo Jennifer Allora (United States/Puerto Rico) and Guillermo Calzadilla (Cuba/Puerto Rico), Paul Chan (Hong Kong/United States), Michael Landy (England), Ugo Rondinone (Switzerland), Wilhelm Sasnal (Poland) and Daniel von Sturmer (New Zealand/Australia).

Conceived as a group of solo shows, each has been developed in collaboration with the exhibiting artists and reveals the ongoing dialogue between the collection and the artists who comprise it.

From figurative painting to video installation and architectural invention, the exhibition showcases a diverse range of media and presents a cross-section of contemporary approaches to artmaking. As well as much-loved works in surprising new configurations, it includes numerous works that have never been seen before at the Art Gallery of NSW.
