dispari&dispari project is pleased to announce the opening of 'STAG' on Saturday October 5, 2013 at 6:00 pm. The show brings together 35 international artists who work in the cities of London or Berlin. 'STAG' - has been devised through a dialogue around staging painting between Andrea Sassi (director, dispari&dispari) and the artists Katrin Plavcak, Charlotte Cullinan and Jeanine Richards. ‘STAG’, frames a position for painting when painting is unstable, ever-changing and gestural – a space between past and future, fact and fiction. Individual paintings are positioned alongside one another so that the experience of the exhibition itself becomes embroiled in the stuff and matter of paint. Performative qualities in the paintings are exposed and staged within the unstable space of the exhibition providing slippages of meaning and original intent. A critical text specially draw up by the art critic and curator Antonio Grulli will introduce the exhibition.
