Gallery owners from twelve European countries at the 8th Strasburg art fair. Painting, sculpture, photography, video, installations, glass, art books.

The Strasburg Fair St'art will be exhibiting contemporary art in all its forms of expression from 6th to 9th February 2004. In addition to painting, sculpture, photography, video, installations and glass, art books will also be on display. More than 80 galleries from twelve European countries will be exhibiting at the next St'art, taking place for the eighth time in the Strasburg Exhibition and Congress Centre, "Expo-Congrès". Seven publishing houses specialising in art books will also be exhibiting. Three quarters of the galleries were already present at last year's fair; a quarter are first-time exhibitors from Poland and Russia.

Of the better-known galleries that will be present are Lahumière from Paris, Ritsch-Fisch from Strasburg, Guy Pieters from Knokke (Belgium) and the Galleria Fomi from Bologna. The German galleries will once again include Raphael from Frankfurt, the Malerfürstenum from Würzburg, Lange from Siegburg, Ohme Von Lingen from Frankfurt/Main and Frank Pagès from Baden-Baden. Galleries Guidat (Zuber and Zoritchak) and Slotine (Matei Negreanu) will be representing glass art. The "one-man shows" will again be worthy of particular note. Photographer Bailly-Maître-Grand will be exhibiting with Lucien Schweizer, François Calvat with Vanhoecke, Eric Liot with the Galerie du Centre and Ken Grimes with Ritsch-Fisch. Gallery Nicole Buck will be bringing together well-known illustrators such as Loustal, Avil, Mattotti, S.Ricci or the Belgian Van Hasselt under the title of "Red and Black".

After the FIAC in Paris, St'art is the second biggest art fair in France. Although over half of the exhibitors come from France, St'art is recognised as a European air fair, demonstrated by the spread of exhibitors from a dozen countries across the continent. The fair has not only experienced an increase in quality in recent years, but also an increasing appeal to visitors to the crossroads of Europe. Over 27,000 art enthusiasts came to St'art 2003, a new visitor record. An additional exhibition of contemporary Polish artists is also planned in this the "Year of Poland" in France and in view of Alsace's twinning with Lower Silesia. The company "Hermes" will be presenting outstanding silk creations by Fernado Gutierrez. There will also be a "VIP system" at St'art 2004. This means that each exhibitor will be allowed to nominate two collectors who will be donated a visit to the fair. The fair will also be accompanied by round table discussions with experts on current issues from the world of art. The "Eurostratège-Club de la Presse" will award a prize to a young European artist.
