press release

Stipo Pranyko (Jajce, Bosnia, 1930) is a nomad artist who belongs within the cultural group of uprooted Yugoslavians that arose at the end of World War II. His work has developed on the margin of the commercial circuits of contemporary art and on different media, like paper and other more modest materials such as cloth or wood. Experimentation with these materials linked him to some art movements that sprouted up in the nineteen sixties, especially Arte Povera, although the fact that he was not settled in one place made him construct his own plastic territories.
