From STRP Festival to STRP Biennial

STRP, the largest indoor Music, Art & Technology festival in Europe, has reinvented itself to be ready for the future. The annual festival is transforming into a biennial event that will be held every odd-numbered year. The inaugural edition of the STRP Biennial will take place between March 1 and 10 of 2013 in the Klokgebouw at Strijp S in Eindhoven (NL).

“A biennial structure offers more opportunities to go all out and really inspire visitors in an all-encompassing art, technology and pop culture experience. This is not about increasing the quantity of works; it is about featuring mainly new works and a more in depth and multifaceted program. From 2013 onward, STRP wants to co-produce and emphasise the production of new and innovative works in close cooperation with international artists and regional businesses”, said Angelique Spaninks, who was appointed STRP Foundation director in May 2012.

'STRP Meets...' all year long The new biennial approach does not mean that STRP’s visibility will be limited to once every two years. Instead, uniquely STRP activities will be organized throughout the year under the “STRP Meets…” banner from 2012 onward. The activities are designed to complement and enrich the city’s cultural offerings. “STRP Meets…” aims to foster collaborations with locals as well as parties from abroad, involving everything from concerts to workshops and master classes, special festivals, expert meetings and projects. The first event on the agenda is STRP Meets Discovery, which combines art and science in a way that is both exciting and accessible. STRP Meets Discovery takes place on Friday September 28, 2012 in the Klokgebouw in Eindhoven (NL).
