Ted Partin

Ted Partin starts from the classic tradition of black and white photography and explores the medium of the portrait. He concentrates on members of what he calls the ‚MTV generation’ – young people who are now overexposed by the medium of the image.

He plays with the idea of a so called masculine, feminine and gay gaze, a recurrent theme in contemporary photography, and establishes direct visual contact with his subjects, be they close friends or strangers, to explore the interaction and the interplay of appearance that occurs between the model, the photographer and the spectator.
