Black Box Gallery is based in Copenhagen and with the opening of the gallery in Linz Black Box has become multinational. The main focus of the gallery is on new media art and this is the reason for establishing a department in Linz, the home of Ars Electronica. The gallery artists work in a variety of media from digital art through bio-art. One of the focuses of the gallery is art in the public space and the gallery sees it as a challenge to help artists working in this way generate an income. The gallery sees itself as a meeting place for people interested in the art of its focus and hopes to be point of departure for contacts between people in general and artists in particular. In the future the audience can expect events includin lectures, performances and screenings.
