The Paradise: Hilma af Klint

In this series of exhibitions, artists make a selection of work that reflects their idea of 'The Paradise'.

Hilma af Klint was born on the outskirts of Stockholm in 1862. Through the course of her later career she worked in secret on a series of occult pictures. It was only twenty years after her death, a condition stipulated in her will, that the paintings were permitted to be shown to the public. Since the first discovery of her astonishing body of work in the 1960s, Hilma af Klint has come to be regarded as one of the most significant forerunners of early 20th century abstract art.
