Tino Sehgal (London, 1976) does not produce tangible objects. Sehgal's artistic practice consists of colllaborations with dancers, actors and museum guards based on movement or the spoken word, which are performed before a public.
His 'situations' defy the conventions of the traditional museological context. This exhibition centres on the piece Instead of allowing some thing to rise up to your face dancing bruce and dan and other things (2000), which was acquired by the museum last year.
For the presentation, Sehgal will select a number of works from the Stedelijk Museum's collection.
