press release

We were both working on projects which took too long time to realise. The desire is simple: We want to work together. Straight forward. No long discussions, no long production, no long whatever. We meet in my studio in Vienna and start from the scratch. Seven days. We have computers, cameras, hard disks, a green box and a huge videoarchive. Others are documenting the process. We do some digital compositing and mix it with performative elements. We invite others. We argue, we laugh, we drink, we jump into paintings, we are selfish, uninterrested, ambitious, frustrated, enlighted, tired and we go home afterwards.

Two weeks later we met in Berlin again. Ulu worked on the compositings. We edit the selected material and finish the project in four days. We named the produced video „REKORDER“ [reconduction through the heart]

A week later we present it at a Video Festival called „Videonale 11“ at the Kunstmuseum Bonn and discuss it publicwise. We are touched by the reception, having no distance to it.

From this point, we choose pictures, graphics, paintings, photos, screenshots and objects we created during the process and recombine them in a gallery space: Galleria Huuto, Helsinki. Here we are: TIKI TAKA, the Videoinstallation REKORDER.
