Vincent Mentzel

The Kunsthal honours Vincent Mentzel with a large retrospective. From the sixties Mentzel works as photographer for NRC Handelsblad, by which he defines the paper's looks. At first he only works in the area of Rotterdam, but in the seventies he becomes the main photo journalist and portrays numerous national and international ministers, rulers and dictators. Recent years Mentzel made larger photo series in China, Japan and Tibet focusing on street scenes and humble cityscapes.
