Which positions and perspectives do artists from Moscow and St Petersburg work from? This exhibition sheds light upon the complexity of Russian contemporary art since the collapse of the Soviet Union, and it's newly established connections to the international art scene. The viewer will recognise themes related to the dramatic political, economical and cultural upheavals that have occurred during the last decade. This is an engaging and challenging exhibition - concepts are explored through a variety of media: photography, painting, installation, sculpture, film, text and video. Work by some of the foremost Russian artists is presented: Oleg Kulik, Sergey Afrika Bugae, Lyudmila Gorlova and Olga Tshernysheva. Pressetext
