press release

Twenty paintings by the American artist William Copley. On show will be a selection of his work, from his estate, painted in what one could probably call his most ‘brazen’ period. Brothels, bars and gambling houses form the background for naked ladies in mostly seductive postures. This is the first time for the majority of these works to be shown to the public. This presentation is the first in a series of exhibitions of Copley’s work on view in the museum cupola.
