Julio González (b. 1876 Barcelona, Spain, d. 1942 Arcueil, France) is considered the most important sculptor of the 20th century besides Brancusi and Picasso. He developed from craftsman to avant-garde artist and is the first artist, who uses the welder for iron sculptures. From 1928 to 1932, Julio González collaborated with Pablo Picasso on a number of metal sculptures that are now attributed to solely Picasso.
