The Shape of Time
Centre Pompidou × West Bund Museum Project
The Centre Pompidou × West Bund Museum Project presents its first semi-permanent exhibition "The Shape of Time," an introduction to the collection of the Musée National d'Art Moderne. From the modern utopias of the early 20th century to the structural instability of the globalized world, the exhibition questions the historical space of a collection that echoes the context of Shanghai. The theme of time gives rise to eleven chapters that bring together major works, ranging from Pablo Picasso and Constantin Brâncui to Zao Wou-Ki and Joan Mitchell, from Christian Boltanski to Christina Iglesias and Cai Guo Qiang.
