Fernand Léger (born 1881 in Argentan, died 1955 in Gif-sur-Yvette / Paris) had one of his first exhibitions at Galerie Kahnweiler in Paris in 1910 together with Braque and Picasso. He had cooperations with Blaise Cendrars, Amédée Ozenfant and Le Corbusier and participated at the documenta 1, 2, 3 in 1955, 1959, 1964 in Kassel and at the Venice Biennale in 1960.
