about

The Centre Pompidou opened in 1977 and the museum moved into the new building, today considered an emblematic 20th-century building, designed by architects Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers. The building extends over 10 floors of 7 500 m2 each, providing: 12 210 m2 for the display of the collection of the musée national d’art moderne; 5 900 m2 for temporary exhibitions and 2 cinemas (315 and 144 seats). At present, the Centre Pompidou welcomes some 3.5 to 3.8 million visitors per annum.
