press release

An exhibition devoted to relatively twelve young artists who each in his or her way have made an indelible mark on the contemporary art scene. Their common feature is that they are of Swiss origin and are represented in one of the worlds leading collections of contemporary art, that of Hauser & Wirth.

Common to the young generation which is represented is the use of random objects which are recycled into art works on a monumental scale. The results are often huge installations encompassing entire walls or various spaces. Some works, such as the taped cardboard automobile of Costa Vece, seem to fall apart. A humorous, ironical reference to other works of art is yet another common characteristic of this young generation.
