press release

An exhibition of video work by Israeli artist Yael Bartana, who is currently representing Poland in the 2011 Venice Biennale. The exhibition includes the third and final film in Bartana’s Polish trilogy, Zamach (Assassination), which explores the possibility of a Jewish renaissance in Poland, as well as her earlier two films Mary Koszmary (2007) and Mur i wieża (2009).

“an unexpected political statement is another way to make your mark in Venice. Nowhere has this been done more effectively than in the Polish pavilion which has been given over to Yael Bartana, an Israeli video artist. Poland’s embrace of Ms Bartana’s ingenuity is regarded as a sign of graceful nationhood and highly appreciated by the art-world cognoscenti.” – The Economist
