Paolo Caliari, called Veronese (b.1528, Verona, d.1588, Venice) was a painter of mannerism. He became known through the use of complementary colors. Important Works: 1563 "Wedding at Cana"; 1573 "Banquet in the house of Levi"; Inquisition: charged with profane representation of the Lord's Supper; 1580 "The discovery of Moses"; 1585 "The death of Lucretia".
