The exhibition will be the first in-depth look at the key defining movement of 20th century design which revolutionised the way we live and gave us clean, minimalist design and architecture. On show will be sculpture, painting, furniture, a silver Tatra car, the Frankfurt kitchen (the first ever fitted kitchen), graphics, photographs and architecture. Key Modernist figures represented include Mondrian, Leger, Mies van der Rohe, Corbusier, Gropius , Man Ray, Marcel Breuer and Alvar Aalto. The exhibition will look at the meaning of Modernism as its pioneers planned for a new and better world.
