The theme of the exhibition are the crossings between music and visual art, experimental work involving various musical and sound elements, which had throughout the 20th century largely expanded the concept of new music, as well as the limits of what was regulary understood as visual art. It displays works by 38 artists: the spectrum ranges from contemplative installations to sound sculptures and video installations, to works of art that deal with sound and music. The Crossings exhibition was accompanied by a programme of concerts, performances and other events. The programme introduced various possibilities of connection of art and music; it was also designed to give an opportunity to young, yet less known musicians representing especially the alternative scene.
