Art, Lies and Videotape is the first Tate exhibition to investigate key moments in the history of performance art. Works on show range from rare footage of dancer Loïe Fuller filmed circa 1900, to new work by Yoko Ono not seen before in the UK.
As well as original work this exhibition features rare objects, photographs, reconstructions, films and videos of performances by major artists such as Vito Acconci, Joseph Beuys, Yves Klein, Francis Picabia, Man Ray, Robert Rauschenberg and director Martin Scorsese, along with work from younger artists such as Franko B, Catherine Opie and Hayley Newman.
