Stephen Shore (born 1947 in New York) was a pioneer of color photography and is director of the Photography Department at Bard College. In the 1960s he spend much of his time in the Warhol Factory, where he took a lot of portraits of the Factory members. On his numerous traveling tours he made amongst others the photo series 'On the road', in which he provides a description of the of ordinary American life and transformes the photographic medium into something iconic.
